Wheeler has overtaken the raiders who cut the Macon road near Lovejoy’s. He says, “We fought them from last night till to-night, killing and capturing many. They have abandoned all their artillery, ambulance train, a number of horses and mules, strewing the road with their accouterments, and releasing some 300 of our people.” He is still in pursuit. Please send news of raid in your quarter.

Wheeler has been fighting the Jonesborough raiders. Has captured many prisoners, their artillery, ambulances, many horses and mules, and is still pursuing them. They passed back by way of Newnan.
